Job ProtectionState law protects the jobs of Massachusetts National Guard members called to active duty and provides tenure for certain veterans in non-civil service positions.veterans receive veterans' preference for open competitive civil service exams, receive extra points for promotional exams, and are placed at the top of the registry for labor service. Veterans who are employed by state government may be eligible to buy back up to four years of active service.

The Women Veterans' Network of the Department of Veterans' Services is the central resource for women veterans in the Commonwealth. The Network provides women veterans with information on federal, state, and local benefits; expands awareness of the needs of women veterans and identify available health and human resources to meet those needs; and advocates on behalf of women veterans in the Commonwealth ofThe SAVE program advocates for veterans who are not able to obtain the benefits they have earned due to institutional or personal barriers. SAVE acts as a liaison between veterans and their families and the various agencies within the federal and state governments. |

Education Benefits VA Tuition Waivers After acceptance by the educational institution, veterans and VA-eligible persons apply to the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs for educational benefits. Once qualified to receive educational benefits, eligible persons may obtain an application for a tuition waiver from the Scholarship Office.
